So I have looked at other posts about this but it was all greek to me.  I bought a slot machine that had the fisheye (Hot Hot Respin) button, but it wasn't connected to an animator board.  In fact, it didn't have the animator board at all.  So, I bought a used one.  I have connected the button to the animator board with the ribbon.  But, I know it needs an ethernet cable, I believe.  I'm not sure where the other end of that connects.  Pictures would be super helpful.  And, I believe it needs power.  I have no idea how to connect that or where, or even if it's possible without me creating a plug that I don't know how to do.  So, if anyone can help....please explain it like I'm a complete idiot.  LOL

Just so everyone knows what I'm working with.  It is a BB2e slot machine.  I'm using the bb1 mpu/cpu....which has worked for every bb1 (and bb1.5) game, until Hitchcock.  I'm told it's because it needs the fisheye button.  So, I'm trying to get that working.

Hitchcock is also a dual screen bb1 game.  Requires the topbox TseTse flyboard connected to the top monitor and serial top box connector.  Also uses CF card specific to that game inside the tsetse flyboard.  The SPN cable (Ethernet type) goes from there to the backplane (if you didn't get the powered spn hub).  As far as power, it is +5v (pin1 is +5 which is the pin away from the clip, pin 2 GND next to the clip)

I’m gonna need pics. lol.

So I have the tse top box. I believe I connect it to the J21 if memory serves. I have the game cards and os.

I don’t know where to plug the cat5 into in the backplane. I see a jack on J3 I think. But will any cat5 do or is it a special cable I might need to order?

The biggest ordeal is the 5v power?  Where does that 2-pin molex/cord come from?  I don’t have one. I know where it connects to the ebb board. But I don’t know where the other end of it would go or where to get the cable from in the first place.

You would have to make the power cable.  You can tap power from the aux power plugs (J16 or J22 pin 5 is +5v and Pins 6 and 7 are gnd), or get a 5v power supply wall adapter and put the molex end on it.  I would make sure it has at least 2 amps if you choose the wall adapter.  They are molex microfit jr connectors.  You would need a 14 pin dual row and 2 pin connector and 4 female pins to go with them.

I was looking at Amazon for usb 5v 2-pin molex power cords but wasn’t sure what would fit. Any chance you know someone that could make what I need and sell it to me?  You lost me completely at the last sentence. 😰

Learning to make these type of cables is a great skill to have, especially if you are going to be like a lot of us where the machines seem to magically multiply overnight.  Maybe someone on the site will make one for you if you don't want to give it a go.

I would give it a go. I just don’t know how. lol. What you said sounded like another language to me. I know where to buy a usb 5v cord. I can probably find the 2-pin molex which I assume is the connector. But the 2 amps, and 14 pin other stuff you said confused me. So now I’m scared. lol. Plus I don’t even know how to get the wires in the molex (or what order they should be in).  I don’t want to ruin my machine or the ebb board.

I think I ordered all the parts I’d need. So I’ll give it a go. Hopefully it works.

I’m still confused on the part you said:  You would need a 14 pin dual row and 2 pin connector and 4 female pins to go with them.

Also for the cat5, it just plugs into the J3 slot on the backplane?

The 14 pin dual row is to tap 5v out of the J16 or J22 connector on the backplane (2 pins for each side of the cable, J16/J22 uses a 14 pin dual row connector, the other end would be the 2 pin plug).  If you are buying a wall adapter, then you don't need that one, only the 2 pin connector plus the 2 female pins.  You crimp the pins to the cable end and insert the pins into the right pin hole on the connector.  Just make sure your crimps are good so the cable wire doesn't slip out of the connector.

And yes, the cat5 cable goes to the only spot on the backplane, J3 is correct.

Oh, okay...I get it now.  LOL  Thanks so much for your help.  I'll let you know how it goes.

It worked!  Yay!  Thank you!
