Title: Igt 2000 I should have left well enough alone
Post by: luvreno on August 26, 2015, 08:12:33 AM
I have a igt 2000 vision with no problems it did work great till I touched it (Sham on me). The other 2000. vision  machine I have was having door open problems last year, I removed that  battery veri  on the. Board that gives door open warning door open , never had anymore problems after I removed battery

Like a dummy my other 2000 vision was working  no problems.    I took the board out to just take a look, I noticed this machine had the battery still in the board it had corrosion on it so I removed it like I did on other machine.  This is when my problems. Started. When I turn on machine I get a Main door open & bill val door open and I can't clear.  The BV door doesn't even have any sensors on it.

Please help

I have encountered similar issues in the past. I see 3 options. (1) Replace that battery you removed with a fresh one. Believe it or not I like to remove it as well but when problems arise it can be corrected sometimes by replacing it. (2) Bypass the door optics. The belly door & cash box door switches are all tied into the door optic circuit. (3) If those options fail you will probably have to replace the MPU. If you have a spare or can borrow one from another machine, you might try that first to see if it corrects the problem. Good luck.

I remember Buzz had this problem. If your SG chips are 100 series like SG000155 you must either replace them with good old SG000363s or solder a jumper wire connecting the two positive pins where the green battery was. This corrects the error without having to put the battery back. Probably not using them in a vision game but just a thought.
Otherwise RBs suggestions should get you going.

I soldered a verta battery on board, still  have the door open, BV door open, I added a reel error to the problem.  Took battery  off and soldered a jumper between the 2 positive points, still have open door open bill

I swapped chips to another board, turned it on got a ram error.
Turned jackpot key 1 time it says game EPROM croc. Mis match 0vb0001
Turned jackpot key 2nd time. Non recoverable  data error

I'm afraid to turn key the 3rd time, anybody have any ideas, hitting the wall

3rd turn will tell you to press and hold the test button for 2-3 seconds and the vfd display will say to close the door. Normal stuff...

Got it up and running, did a bypass of the door optic that fixed it for the time being.
