what would be the most ram that can be installed on an avp 2.5 mpu? I know the 3.0 can handle 4gb max, is the 2.5 the same or less. The 2.5 I was looking at tonight only has 1 1gb stick in it right now.
-
I would advise a min. of 2gb from past experience.
-
anybody know the max?
-
Should take 4gb if running updated os and bios.
-
:thank_you: so that brings the next question. What is the latest os and bios for a 2.5 mpu? Also, are the 2.5 using only ddr? I know the 3.0 uses ddr2.

thanks, but that post, and those brainbox numbers are in regards to 3.0 mpus. I need info for the old 2.5's.
-
Crap I thought 620 was 2.5, sorry.

What is the model/version number etched/imprinted onto the circuit board and who is it made by?
-
here's what I got...
-
I'm coming up blank on a HannStar MV-4 circuit board using Google.
All I get are HannStar motherboards in laptop versions online.
-
thanks for looking. I'm not coming up with much either. It looks like the motherboard takes ddr memory, not ddr2 like a 3.0. It only has two slots for ram, and I haven't seen any ddr larger than 1gb per stick. So I guess they are getting 2gb. That should be plenty, they are in g22 slants that don't have mld monitors. So no mld should make for less horsepower needed.

for future members reference: Igt avp 2.0 and 2.5 cpus use ddr memory, which the maximum size is 1gb per stick. Max ram as per igt documentation is 2gb in these cpus.
