Title: Bally Slot Machine E-2224-20
Post by: DavidBelg on January 19, 2023, 02:31:56 AM
Is this a true original E-2224-20 ?

Model nrs match but I cannot find any reference on the interenet to an exact same machine.

Most machines I find in the E-2224 are 3 lines and do not have 5 line pay.

I have an E2224-30 that's 3 line, 3 coin.

The -20 indicates the options so it'd make sense that you have a different setup.

Thank you for the reply.

There is no documentation (like I have for the Bally EM's) or brochures that have a listing of all released models with their subnumbers?

Yes I got the machine and a few questions.  It was a DOA but got some live in it attaching a proper power cord :)

All test seem to function good (reel solenoids, lights, hopper pays out 10, switches).

Real mech is greasy stuck so it doesn't lock/latch properly.
Real readers seem to give incorrect results.  Are you supposed to see the actual lights lit up?  Cause I don't see anything lit.  I do get some nr variations (1,2,3,4 and a 7) but no proper match between symbols and display nrs.  Disk plates and symbols on all 3 reels seem to be similar aligned.

I do have a question regarding the head and some unused connectors and pcb holder.  Does my machine miss a part or what is supposed to be hooked up there in the top behind the backglass at the left hand side??   The small connector goes to the bottom right of the cabinet iand is cut there.

I also noticed that on U12 (personality rom ) with label E2212-40 ?

A video of the machine going in tilt now.

The E2000 reel reader cards used a 5 Volt DC voltage.
The optics are infrared, you can't visually see anything light up.
You can go to test 5 and slip a Popsicle stick in the front of each optic and see if the test 5 code changes.

I would say that you likely have the wrong glass, according to the database I created the E2224-20 is a 3 line Multi-Bar with electronic sound

Your machine has glass for a 5 line
