Title: I think I have the wrong coin comparitor
Post by: GLD on April 09, 2023, 02:37:27 PM
Still trying to get this IGT S+ working . Has no coin hopper ( yet ) but pulled the CMOS chip and cleared the 3200 error . Dropped a couple of nickels in and it`s not reading coins . Saw utube on this and saw to make sure it had a sample coin in coin comparitor . Looked and it had none so I go to put in a nickel  and it will not hold anything smaller than a silver dollar . :Scratch-Head: I know because I tried one and it fit perfectly , so I`m thinking I have a dollar coin comparitor in this nickel machine . How do I know I get a comparitor for this IGT S+  nickel that is the right one ? I sure hope this machine isn`t going to become a open money pit ! :banghead: Here`s a picture of it if it helps

Contact Jim from Midwest Slots, he has a banner on home page.  You may also need a 5c coin guide in the coin in optics board.

I have been looking and the ones I have seen looks like a 6 wire connector from the machine into the comparitor . My machine has a 3 wire connector that plugged into the comparitor , nothing else . Wonder what`s up with that ? Or am I just out of luck with this ? Can this thing be set up to just play without the use of any coins at all . It`s just for fun

Yes if machine has a bill validator.  I believe the dollar CC uses a different harness so you will need the correct harness also.
