Title: Bally 961 Super Continental
Post by: wizeguy on April 29, 2023, 07:29:41 PM
I believe the game I own is a Bally 961 Super Continental (Picture attached)

I have got to a point that my Super Continental will get to ‘Coin Accepted’ but it will not release the pull handle.

The pull handle release coil does work in coil test mode.

Anyone have any ideas where to look?  I have a liberty bell series E manual, but not the correct one for this machine.

looks like an E2303.

the 961 was a purely electromechanical game made for sweden and had 3 reels.

if it's an e-series machine, you want to be in the "bally reel games" area, not the electromechanical ... tho there are some e-series manuals in https://bingo.cdyn.com/slots/bally_manuals/

If the machine has a coin in switch bottom left of the hopper.
Just might to be cleaned and or adjusted.

But try this first. Check to see if the coin in switch is latched.
If not latch it then insert a coin.

What is coil test mode?
My machine never says coin accepted as well as the two coils on the front door for the coin slot to operate successfully and let the quarter be allowed to fall into the hopper.
Super Continental 891-1

Super Continental 891-1

the game wizeguy posted the picture of in post #1 is probably a later E series machine that has computer boards in it, but he hasn't confirmed.  Note the win meter is an led display ... but it's possible someone retrofitted that.

in any case, an electromechanical slot doesn't have any test modes.

if you're having problems with an 891-1 ... which is an EM slot ... best if you start a new topic so more people will take a look at it.

Sorry for not responding earlier I was expecting notice when responses were posted...

Im pretty sure it is not a EM Slot machine.  I will look and see if I can get more information on model number
