Hello,
I still need to break out reels to test bulbs but none of them seem to be lighting up. I didn’t even know there were backlight when I bought the machine years ago. The reel strips need to be replaced as they are not BL compatible. Is there anything in settings or otherwise that turns them on etc? Or is it automatic? I would be shocked if every bulb is burnt.
Also is it better to replace with LED? Type?

No. You need backlit reels, backlit reel controller, backlit harness and a harness from controller to I/O card.

Know of as my pictures anywhere? I guess I could just get back into it and see where the reels are connected to but don’t have another S2000 to compare to.

Here's a pic of what is needed for a normal 3 reel: (for a 4th reel bonus you need a 5 reel harness and controller I believe, I forget now)

Can anyone help by posting pictures of the wiring/board(s) that must be in a S2000 to support backlight reeks? I have the reels but they are not lighting up even though bulbs are good.
I know you may ask “did they ever?” No not since I’ve owned it. Just started playing around with it to add a printer, Tito, etc and noticed reels have backlighting but strips are not compatible. I do have a quote from Sunkist but don’t want to spend that dough until I know I have backlighting working.
