Hi !
I just bought a not very functional slot.
I cleaned the interior with compressed air and the plates with contact spray.
I found 2 burnt scr on IO bd and a missing thyristor Q3 on the hopper which I replaced
now i get error 2...56.
I downloaded the manual but I can't figure out where I should troubleshoot next.
if anyone can guide me in the right direction...

after removing and reinstalling all the ROMs, I have a new error code 0.0.0.0.46
please help
how to decipher this code?
-
I measured with the oscilloscope +UR
1.5 V riple
It's too much ?
I noticed that the relay behind the hopper makes a click about every second
something is causing the automatic reset ?
-
measured on the reset pin of the mcu
what triggers the continuous reset?
please help
-
I measured C24 under voltage and it shows 0V
is it normal ?
-
Not exactly sure what you're doing, and not sure what the "mcu" is, but can you at least post a photo of the machine and the error code displayed?
I'll see if I can drum up some help.

Bally Supermelon 2000
2650 CPU
-
thank you for replying
CPU board
I think it is made of pieces from other slots
-
I cut S1 and now from DIP sw 8 I can stop the automatic reset but no difference
-
now I am in the process of changing all the capacitors
-
Lithium battery + Schottky
-
Cut R40 off of the board and solder a jumper wire from the CA3081 pin 5 to pin 13
This defeats the low voltage detect circuit.
-
Done
-
No M1 - M3 Eprom, only P1
-
M1 + P1
-
M1 m2 p1
-
M123 P1
-
I put a probe on J2/J5 Bus Address
I underclocked the CPU at 100Hz to see if something is heard on the bus
BA0 I think it looks good
-
BA3 not so good
Noise ?
-
I managed to build an eprom reader and copied the content
Does anyone know if they contain what they should?
-
I would have to see the binary file that is on P1 to see if it is valid.
Can you provide a hex file
-
that is, just change the file extension from .txt to .hex or. rom
-
it won't let me attach with another extension
-
and sorry for the delay, I didn't see that the conversation went to the second page

today I tested IC 5101 RAM, both passed the test, but still error 0._._._.0.6
If anyone is interested, test 5101 with Arduino Mega
-
I built a logic analyzer with raspberry pico and a level shifter
now I can see much better the bus activity at high frequency
I listened to J and J2, A0 - A8 and D0 - D8 and there is activity
I don't know what to do
I think I'll check with the analyzer all the ICs, maybe I'll find something stuck high or low
I will start with 2650 to see what signals it receives and generates
-
CPU 2650 tested
I measured the activity on the 2650 and found the following pins with fixed level
but I don't know if it's normal or not
Sense INTREQ Pause Run/Wait High
ADREN Flag DBUSEN OPACK INTACK Low
-
after consulting the diagram and eliminating the pins connected to the ground or not connected, I reduced the list:
Sense (tied together) INTREQ High
INTACK Low
-
New 5101 arrived
Tested ok
I ordered too much
Some are for sale
if anyone from Europe is interested
-
Great progress!
I ordered 4 pieces of eeprom 2817 from our Chinese brothers
which I was lucky that they worked
and I wrote with an arduino mega and a proto board a rom version (M1 M2 M3 P1 E2224-30-42)
that I found on www, and It came to life!
I can enter the tests, I also have some sounds, but it is clear that it is not her software

Does anyone have a Supermelon 1228 e-series ROM ?
please help
-

I put a sticky on this forum on how to eliminate a defective low voltage detector circuit.
Remove R40 and solder a jumper from pin 13 to pin 5 on the CA8031.
That clicking relay is a clue that the low voltage circuit is going bat shit crazy.
-
yes, thanks,
I already did that, now I need the right binaries files for it
