Help ID my machine
« on: April 16, 2023, 07:38:40 PM »
Hi - I'm new to the world of slots. I'm a long time pinball and arcade game collector but have always wanted a slot. I ended up winning this one on an impulse from an auction. The seller states it works but I want to test it to make sure when I picked it up to make sure. I'm having an issue trying to figure out exactly what model it is. From my google searches it seems like it might be an E series but I can't really tell. I couldn't find anything with the exact same art. Thanks in advance.

Glad to have you here!
Can you post a shot of the inside of the machine? An "EM" or Electro-mechanical machine will look quite different than the later E series.

I believe it's a E1000 or maybe the E2000 as it has the red LED display on the reel glass

I picked up the game today and the model number on it is E-809. Like I suspected the seller misrepresented the machine and it doesn't work.

I'm pretty familiar with repairing Bally pinball machines of this era and I'm thinking it might be similar troubleshooting steps.

Where I"m at right now is when the machine boots up it's stuck with a code 50 on the win display which apparently means open door. I've jumpered the door switch because it's missing the cam it needs to close the switch.

The open door light does go off when I close the door but the code doesn't go away and the game won't do anything when I put a coin thru it.

The three reel stop coils are locked on when I boot the game and will stay locked on but shut off if I put the machine into test mode.

The lights, switches, coils and hoppper tests seem to work fine. I tested the reels and I don't have any reference guide to know if the results are correct but the numbers change as I advance the reels.

Is the recommended next step to go thru and replace all the .100 connectors and examine the boards for cold solder joints, reseat roms etc? That's what I'd do on a pin of this vintage.

Any help would be appreciated.

When you press the reset on the hopper board does it put it into ready to play mode?

Please post two photos of the inside of your machine; one of the door and one of the main area.
