IGT S2000 REEL 1 TILT
« on: May 20, 2023, 07:37:35 AM »
Hello there,

I recently purchased an IGT S2000 5-reel slot machine in France (beaucause i'm French), and I'm facing some interesting problem with its restoration. Being a newbie in the world of slot machines, I thought it would be a good project, but it's proving to be quite a puzzler!

Here's the situation: I've managed to get everything powered up, and to my delight, all the lights are shining bright! However, there's a persistent issue that has me scratching my head. Whenever I power on the machine, it displays the message "Reel 1 Tilt," regardless of where I position the first reel. It's quite the mystery!

I also noticed that when I power on the machine, the reels do not spin, which is causing me some concern.

In my quest to troubleshoot this quirk, I read on some forums that the optical door sensor could often be the culprit. So, I decided to put my detective hat on and ran a test using the "Processor IO Test" menu. Here's where things got interesting: when I checked the status of the "MAIN DOOR" sensor, it seemed to oscillate between 0 and 1 when the door was closed (but stayed at 0 when open). Is this behavior normal?

I would greatly appreciate any assistance or insights you could provide regarding this issue. Perhaps you've encountered a similar situation before or have some tips on how to get the reels spinning smoothly again. Your expertise would be a game-changer!

Thank you so much in advance for your kind assistance. I'm eagerly looking forward to your response!

That is normal for the door sensor, the 0-1 toggling means the door optic circuit is operating.

as for the reel tilt, the only way to clear tilts on the machine is to lift the latch up and down, ( this makes the machine think the door has been opened) you may have to do this several times. if it does not clear then you may have a problem.

what type board are you using? if a 1270 board, the SG chips could be the problem ,usually you need a SG 523 or 528 to overcome the reel tilt issue.

Hope this helps.
