Title: IGT S+ reel chips
Post by: Clawsino on April 16, 2014, 03:51:26 PM
Hi all, new user here, came across the forum while searching for more info about the reel chips and how to change them. I have 2 IGT S+ slots and I'm looking to change the reel chips and have the machines pay out more often, or atleast have the chips handy and be able to switch it on occasion. Now what I'm wondering is how I know which chip is installed in my machine currently and what my options are as far as more payouts. I was looking at the boards and only 1 chip had a decal on it that said it was an IGT SS4616. I'm also curious where I might aquire these chips and are they expensive to buy? By the way the 2 machines I have are "Sierra Silver" and "Double Diamond" if that helps. Thanks :garfield:

If you will take a look at the Home page, about half way down on the right edge you will see Rick's FAX there is a ton of information about S + machines. http://www.newlifegames.net/igtbible/ (http://www.newlifegames.net/igtbible/)

To your question, one very important piece of info.you left out was how many credits game themes do you have. As a example I figured out your Sierra Silver is a 3 coin machine because you have a SS4616 chip ( 87.45%) I looked in my library of SS chips and the best paying one for that game that I have is a SS4614 (92.43% ) Your Double Diamond, if it's a 2 coin, SS6623 (98.02%) or 3 coin SS3664 (97.4 %) are available.

Are they expensive ? Depends on where you get them. One dickhead on here will sell you those chips for around $12 each, then there is another dickhead on here that gives those same chips away just to piss off the first dickhead. I think we are both successful, he is still selling chips and I give away quite a few.  Pm me your address and 2 or 3 coin Double Diamond.

Now even after changing these two SS chips you will not see a huge jump on the machines paying out better

To add to Buzz' comments, the only real way you are going to be able to increase frequency of payouts to something noticeable is to go to a multi-line game.  Like Buzz says, the difference between an 85% chip and a 97% chip is a few more payouts over a long period of time.   If you look at the S+ bible entry for double diamond 3 coin, you will see that an 80% chip pays every 7.66 spins, and the 98% chip pays every 6.76 spins.  When you compare that with an 80% 5 line game, it pays every 1.6 spins.
