Title: IGT S+ RWB SP731 SS4706 Problem after battery change & bv set chip
Post by: crjadvertising on April 24, 2014, 11:50:32 AM
I replaced the battery in my machine and was able clear the 61 & 61-1 codes. I had to use a set chip to set the denomination and enable the BV.  Everything appeared to be working okay until the three reels began moving VERY slow and a slight "buzz" sound from machine.  I opened the door - powered down then back up again and have not experienced the problem.  Any clues as to what might have caused the reels to spin freakishly slow.

Thanks - I am somewhat of a newbie but learning fast.

If the reels are spinning slow, they are in tilt mode. I THINK on a S  just open and close the main door with power on and the reels will stop the slow spin.  ( S 2000 with a slow spin, open the main door, turn the key and close the door ).

Any clues to what would cause the tilt?

Door opening during a spin will do it, as will something physically touching or interfering with the reels (like a loose wire, for instance). Let us know if it keeps happening.

I can only guess, but when you were changing the battery you bumped one of the reels, or take a look and see if something isn't rubbing one of the reels. Most times that will be a wire hanging down.

Thank you - I will look for any type of obstruction or wires that might be too close to the reels and post findings

two areas to check, as Roz stated, could be the machine seeing the door open even though it is physically closed. How could this be!, the door optics are misaligned, and any vibration could be enough to  make then think the door was opened. OR  the cash can door switch is still hooked up and the same thing applies, the door could come open briefly and open the door optics circuits.  you can test the door optics in test #13 of the input diagnostics.  the cash can switch can be bypassed with no effect on anything.

Hope this helps

Jim

Here is what I found - there was a small short in the door optics wiring - small break where there was a bend in the wire - stripped, reattached, and taped, all works great.

At least for now - that's what makes these little things fun - what's next?

Thanks for all of your help  :cool_thumb_up:
