Title: SG-50B Help needed
Post by: Eric Voigt on March 03, 2017, 01:14:19 PM
My Reel slot has been off (not used for several years) and and after moving I plugged it and it powered up however will not go into game mode.  The reels do not "jolt" during power up and cannot get reset to work, nor any other functions.  I do have the manual as well however looking for some past experience help.

KLAR advised the battery could be possibly bad or, possibly a bad capacitor.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Eric

A bad Super cap. Sometimes they used those instead of a battery.
I would be glad to look at the board if you want to send it to the shop.
Our tester is up and running.

Now I need a new (replacement) power supply.

Any out there?

There should be a tag on your old power supply indicating how much current the 12V and 5V outputs can handle.
Go to jameco.com and find one that is the same physical size and can handle the same amount of current.
For your needs a open frame would even work.
