Title: Video guide: how to replace a battery in an IGT S+ slot machine [error code 12]
Post by: meloyelo51 on May 04, 2017, 07:40:42 PM
I just wanted to say hi and thanks for a great site with a lot of information.
A friend of mine got 2 S+ machines free because they weren't working, brought them to me cause I'm into working on arcades.  I stumbled across this site as I had never touched a slot machine and needed to know how expensive this Error #12 was going to run me.  Well let's just say this is my favorite error code now!

I wanted to give something back with my first post, so here is a video I made of how to replace the battery in an IGT S+.

! No longer available (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1u_FDk5UXg#)

Super Stars machine was nice to me, booted right up.  The Triple Diamond, on the other hand, got the dreaded 61-1 loop, so I also made a Ram Clear 123 chip video which I will start a new thread.

Nice video.  The only thing I'd note is that when you got the 65-1 error after the battery change, the correct response to that is to open the door and press the self test switch again for a couple of seconds (don't turn the jackpot reset key there).

I edited the post so the video will also be embedded here, and I've made it a sticky for now (we're hoping to consolidate the FAQ and how-to guide posts into fewer stickies in the future to reduce clutter, but it's its own sticky for now).

Thanks, that might have been what happened to me.  I remember having a little more trouble behind the scenes, and was missing some footage [I think accidentally deleted or camera stopped] that it didn't work on the first try, and then seemed to just start working.  If I remember correctly, something was different between the instructions included with my chip and what I found on here, but it was a few months ago and not sure which posts I actually read back then.
