Title: S+ motherboard/mpu question
Post by: BizBakerE on March 22, 2018, 10:23:28 AM
Just got an IGT S plus missing the motherboard and mpu.  Previous owner said it needed to be repaired (probably a code problem or chip)  and the guy he hired took the parts and changed his phone number.  Any recommendations on easiest or best replacements for my setup? (Sorry... Newbie.  trying to attach pictures)

Looks like the bill validator and hopper are missing also, unless you removed them for some reason. They did leave the bill validator power supply in the machine, can't tell if it is old or newer style, you can post a closeup photo of it if you want. It is the black box mounted just to the left of where the bill validator gets installed.

All of the missing parts are available from the slot parts dealers and other folks here. When you get a replacement mpu board you will need its mounting tray also since yours is gone. The replacement mpu won't have the 2 game chips for your machine, you'll need to get those separately but that's not a big deal. You'll have to decide if spending to get all these parts is what you want to do, may depend on what cost you already have in the machine. Some people would get it to working, others might part it out with the remaining items and then recycle the metal cabinet. Whether you plan to fix it up and keep it or if you plan to resell it after fixing it will also factor in.

What about a photo of the inside of the door, any missing parts there (coin comparitor, coin optics boards, etc)?

I have the tested board with battery holder installed on the board with a new battery, a tested motherboard with the e-squarred chip in a socket,  with the two chip software set. board mounted on the aluminum tray.  along with a set and clear chip for the machine.

let me know

would be a good idea to let us see the coin in area and see what's there, also take a picture of the inside of the bill unit where the cash can would be, specifically the plate that is in the bottom where the cash can rests on, reason, to upgrade to a WBA that has to come out.
