Title: Williams Model 550
Post by: Al Boudreaux on August 06, 2020, 11:34:57 AM
I have a Williams 550 with flat screen mfg. 10/1999. When I turn the machine on I get no sound or video on the screen. There is a green light on the back of the screen that goes out when I unplug the power supply to the screen. How could I trouble shoot to determine if I am dealing with a screen problem, power supply problem or something else? The machine has been in storage since this failure. Could dead batteries cause this? I have ordered replacement batteries but not installed yet.

You could plug the lcd to a laptop (just disconnect from the mpu board) to see if it is working.  If it is, then you most likely have an issue with the mpu board (the board that has the connector for the video monitor on it).  Do you have one or two board inside the mpu cage?  Posting a photo would help identify what kind of hardware you have inside your cabinet.

Al Boudreauux,

Once you replace the battery.  You will need to used a Clear/Set chip.
