I've got a 17" Kortek touchscreen in a IGT I-game cabinet.
The machine was running Hexbreaker for about 2 months powered up 24/7 and now the software has been changed, but I can easily see Hexbreaker graphics on the top half of the LCD (especially in the attendant menu).
I thought LCDs are supposed to be immune to burn/ghost images. :wtf1:

Depends on when it was made. I believe they use image shifting to mitigate burn from static images, not sure what if anything was used when yours was made.

It looks like an older model LCD to my eyes. The main burn is from the 'hexbreaker' logo in the top left corner and also 'change your luck', both of which are pretty static images with white on a black background. Interesting....but :banghead: .

I would think image shifting would only work if the entire screen image was static. On a video slot only certain parts stay still for any lengh of time so I would think this would lead to image burn in the brighter areas. Just a guess really...

Yes you can get burn in / ghost image on an LCD read an article about it a few months back, and of cause i can't find it now, a quick search found this from Wikipedia

Because of the more rapid luminance degradation of current organic compounds used in OLED (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OLED)-type displays, OLED is even more susceptible to burn-in than plasma.[citation needed] In addition, the wide variation in luminance degradation with OLED [1] will cause noticeable color drift over time (where one of the red-green-blue colors becomes more prominent).In the case of LCDs, the mechanics of burn-in are different than plasma and OLED, which develop burn-in from luminance degradation of the light-emitting pixels. For LCDs, burn-in develops in some cases because pixels permanently lose their ability to return to their relaxed state after a continued static usage profile. In most typical usage profiles, this image persistence (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image_persistence) in LCD is only transient.Both plasma-type and LCD-type displays exhibit a similar phenomenon called transient image persistence, which is sometimes confused with screen burn but is not permanent. In the case of plasma-type displays, transient image persistence is caused by charge build-up in the pixel cells (not cumulative luminance degradation as with burn-in), which can be seen sometimes when a bright image that was set against a dark background is replaced by a dark background only; this image retention is usually released once a typical-brightness image is displayed and does not inhibit the display's typical viewing image quality.

I saw the bun-in effect in one of my LCD's that I cleaned up and sold. After I changed the original game, I left the machine on for 3 days and the burn disappeared.I bet if you leave the machine on long enough, those "ghost" images will be gone as well.

Hopefully. It went from a 3902 Hexbreaker to an 044 Game King 6.2, so the screen displays are pretty different and variable now.
