Title: Need epom type/size for Cashflow SC66xx series head

Can somebody tell me what size eprom is used in the MEI Cashflow SC66xx series head?   Received some today and not a one of them has an eprom in it.  I was told they were functional????  Thanks for any help  TJ

My understanding is that they are not supposed to have an eprom in the head unless upgrading the firmware, even upgrading the firmware is normally done as a flash upgrade, not by a chip.

What are you using them in?

None of my MEI heads have an eprom.  They are all flashed.  Have you tried to power them on.  If you get a blinking green light, then it's functional.

Thanks guys for setting me straight on these.  I guess I just need to reflash them.

Why do you want to reflash them?  You just can't plug a USB cable in like on a UBA and reflash them.

Where would be a good place to buy a MEI PORTABLE PROGRAMMING MODULE ?

Suzohap sells them, but you have to call, they won't sell it on the website.  It is also not just a matter of buying a ppm, you will also need STS software and the firmware for whatever protocol you need.


OR


You could find someone who is selling an old one and have them put the right software on it.


There are two ppm's that I know of.  The old one without the LCD window that holds only 1 protocol at a time, and the new one with the LCD window that can hold multiple ones.
