Title: 922-QZ Summit conversion
Post by: DavidLee on July 13, 2016, 01:20:52 PM
Picked up this 922-ZQ machine for parts, but its in real good shape.
The blue card is missing and have been informed its a sound card and should run without it.
So far just had time to plug it in, but won't power up. Going to trace the AC into the machine to see whats up.
Any info in regards to what I might look for would be helpful as I basically work on EM machines.
Note the battery barely reads if that makes a difference as I believe its for memory.

Fuse holders on the EM and E series are problematic and cause issues. If you can remove the the entire fuse holder assembly and inspect the holders on the backside , that would be best. Sometimes they only fail under load. Also pull the reel assembly and clean all the oxidized male pins on the Beau plug. The female part of the Beau plug can be cleaned with a narrowed/modified old style automotive points file.

Thanks for the info. Going to check continuity from the Ac plug into the machine and fuse holders.
Also there is a couple of what appears to be reset buttons that look like fuse holders on steroids in line with the power switch between the coin drop and the case. Will add some photos in the morning.
Thanks again.
