Here’s a fix for your oval led ring. Picked up a IGT topper at a garage sale for $10. Cleaned it up and couldn’t get the led oval to work so plugged it into another topper and it worked fine. Ended up being the connector where the voltage plugged into the oval ring. Anyway I messed around with long enough to where I fried the circuitry. So went to my spare parts and got out a 3 volt white led icicle strand (which I got free at a garage sale), with flat tops. Took a small drill bit and drilled a pilot hole, for correct orientation, between the 2 solder posts on the leds on the oval. Then drilled a larger hole in each the same size as the diameter of leds on icicle strand. Then looped the strand around the oval and placing the leds in the new holes. They are wired in parallel and some longer lengths of wiring had to be cut out. Put a small tie wrap on the top and bottom of each led to hold them in place on the oval. Then attached the oval directly to the plastic topper insert using screw posts with posts were used to attach the oval. (this was done because the alignment of the leds is impossible using the original screw posts that held the oval and attaching the top plastic chrome piece over them) With leds now being held in place by the holes in the plastic topper insert, the front chrome cover can be put in place, with some patience and finesse. Got into my box of transformers from garage sales and Salvation Army outlet stores and found a 3 volt for the leds and 24 volt for fluorescent. Plugged both into a small extension cord and placed in the bottom of the topper and plugged it into the auxiliary outlet inside the machine. Doesn’t flash or chase, stays lit but is an option when your oval no longer works. Looks great, it’s not a quick fix, takes some time and a lot of patience. See attached photos.
