When attached to an AVP game via USB, the game controls the RGB light pattern in most cases.

I know these toppers can keep time with music. It seems almost a waste putting one on an S2000 machine but that's why I ordered the non-USB version. It's offered with or without USB.

I just received the RGB Polygon Topper I ordered from Suzohapp. It didn't come with any instructions or documentation and I'm not sure how to connect it. I want to install it on my S2000 Game King.

So clear the confusion. Is this going on a S2000 or a Game King? I know there is a USB connector on a 044 mother board but I have no idea what it is used for.
Quality doesn't cost. It pays.

Sorry for the confusion. It's going on a Game King. I guess you could call it an S2000 vintage machine ? I call it that because the cabinet has bat ear speakers.

S2000 is always a stepper game, game king is always a video game.  Two different things all together, you cannot convert an s2000 to a gameking, unlike other manufacturer's platforms of the time.

I wanted to share some information I leaned about my topper. My topper is apparently the latest design which uses an LED backlight panel rather than the earlier high power LED's mounted on heavy duty aluminum heat sinks (see photos in earlier posts). I suspect this latest design uses significantly less power than previous versions.

The backlight panel uses a very thin narrow flex circuit (like a thin tape) which contains small surface mounted LED's. There are no heat sinks. No thermally conductive grease or any obvious measures taken to dissipate heat. The plastic housing on which the flex circuit is mounted might be a thermally conductive polymer.

I determined the electrical requirements and measured the actual power consumption of my topper.
Controller board & chaser light:   12 vdc   0.10 amps   (1.2 watts)
Backlight panel:   24 vdc   0.37 amps   (8.8 watts)

The backlight panel will operate on less than 24 vdc but 12 vdc is not enough to turn it on.
