Title: Cooked relay
Post by: jimliner on November 26, 2016, 09:32:15 PM
Cleaning up some small issues with 891-1 Super Continental.   Anti Cheat relay was burnt out when bought.   Replaced relay and straightened / adjusted its switches.   Relay works well.  Monitoring its temp and not leaving plugged in while unattended for awhile.  It does run warm.

Changed out one of the plastic hopper brake pieces.  Latch piece that stops the spinning plastic piece.   Meant to take a picture of how it was worn.  It was causing a slow stop of hopper, which would leave a coin under the roller.  The roller being raised played havoc with pays.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.

Conty's do run hot. You could put in a fan.
You can rejuvenate your motor brake piece with a good file
That will keep it from slipping
The coil you show is an always on/full on type. I've seen them around, mostly in pins.
Interesting concept, half on, full on. Imagine it's the quickest coil to respond.
Next to latching relays they're my faves.
Love those ballys!!!
You can eliminate the safety relay unlest you are a purist --
(Suspect so, & that's good.)

Thanks OldReno, my preference is to get them back to functioning as when built.   Down to coin meters and hopper overflow.   Once they're working well, with hopper overflow adjusted I rarely have to open the door.
