Nice, it has the dual level LCD right?
-
Here's my new G23. Ha! Just kidding. Nice machine. I'm jealous. Congrats!
-
Hi Rick,
Not exactly sure what you mean, but yes it has an lcd on top and bottom. The bottom LCD is a dual LCD which IGT calls MLD. That stands for Multi Level Display which produces a fantastic 3D effect. Last year I bought a BB1.5 Transmissive Gold Fish 2 from Brad and was blown away. This, blows that away, incredible machine.
-
Nice machine.
I agree,Brad is a great guy.
-
Yes, that is what I meant. It is like a 3D type LCD where there are actually 2 lcd panels within the monitor. Makes the thing look like the graphics are coming toward you as the animation for wins happens. It's a pretty cool effect. I like the platform, but I am the type that waits until software is easier to come by at a more affordable price range. I like to tinker with the machines and change them around, so getting parts and other things for that platform right now is probably $$$$$.
-
Hi Rick,
Yea, it looks like parts are difficult to get at the moment. Unfortunately software on ebay is going for around $500 which is crazy. Luckily I have two incredible games to hold me over. I know the machine can hold four games not sure what the max is though
-
The machine can hold as many games as you've got hard drive space and usb ports for license keys.
-
That's one of the really cool things about the AVP platform, you just keep putting games until your hard drive space/USB ports run out. I hear ekeys are needed to add make changes? Am I correct on this? How hard is it to come into an ekey, and do you need more than 1 type?
-
I believe it does require it. Can somebody chime in?
-
You'll need a diagnostic key to install the games to the hard drive, then the e-key to enable them at whatever hold percentage/max bet combo you want.
-
So you need 2 keys.
-
Yes, could be 2 or 4-all work the same. A E-key 7 and the correct diagnostic. You can also use a 3,4,5- E-key which is what a 7 is just a 3-in-1 . A Diag. 14-09 would cover anything you want to do, Probably even a 6 etc. The E-Keys CANNOT be copied so they are expensive, The diag. can.

Sizzler,
Your obviously very knowledgable on the platform. Besides the often used , 'they were made to stay on all the time' response we have all grown custom to..do I need to worry about screen burn if I leave it on for a couple days? I would assume an advanced machine like this has technology that combats that.
-
Our machines stay on 24/7, and even our oldest mld monitors show no signs of screen burn in. The machines themselves, when idle, will automatically cycle through the themes during it's attract mode, in essence acting as a Screensaver. The only reason I can see as far as turning the game off would be to save on your power bill. Otherwise it's purely a matter of preference.
edit: This is what I get trying to type out a quick reply on my phone! Excuse the gibberish, it's been fixed!
-
Thanks Jon, great information!

Thanks everyone for the responses. I'm so new to this platform, I have a ton to learn and really don't know anything as of yet about them. So..2 questions
1) The machine is loaded with Cash Coaster and Firehouse Hounds (Both happen to be amazing). When I turn the machine on and Firehouse Hounds boots up the topper works and looks beautiful. However, once I switch the game to Coasters, the topper turns off. Switch back to Hounds and topper turns back on.
Now, if I turn the machine off while Coasters is loaded and then back on Coasters will start with Topper working fine. Switch back to Hounds Topper still works, back to Coasters and topper turns off. Any idea what is going on here?
2) The machine really shines in Attract mode. After about ten minutes or so the top screen goes to the "Multi Game" logo and the bottom screen shows the player that the machine can switch between games. The machine then switches itself from Coasters to Hounds. This is really cool, however, it doesn't switch back to Coasters and will remain on Hounds. I'd love for the machine to sequence back and forth between titles.
I know these are minor annoyances, but if there is a quick fix I'd love to know it. I messed around with settings, but don't see anything that will resolve either of these issues. I know the topper is functioning perfectly and it's not a "bad" topper so I can only assume the issue might require a re-install of Coaster. Not so sure about my second question.
Any advice is much appreciated!

Look for a setting that specifies "default theme" under the game setup. Make sure both themes are unchecked and it should go back and forth. Otherwise it sounds like Firehouse Hounds is set as the default theme.
For the topper issue, when you say it turns off, do you mean the ambient lighting around the edge doesn't come on?

Hi Jon,
Correct, the main topper part lights up but the outer light ring does not. However the "light bar" just below the topper stays on.
-
Trace the USB cable coming from the topper down to your backplane, and try plugging it in a different usb port.
-
Ok did that but now getting these error codes on screen and Bill acceptor. So, I can't switch games now to test if that worked.
-
Did you do anything around your cash box? I can't tell anything on one picture but the other is showing your cash box door open.
-
Congrats on your new machine there! Brad is an awesome vendor and got my BB2 from him and hope some more stuff in the future! I think I may have played your machine at one point :cool_thumb_up: :cool_thumb_up:
-
Jon,
The error codes in the top left corner are R, T, B, M . I didn't mess with the bill acceptor or cash box. I'm stumped now.
-
I am also going to have to purchase those USB EKeys for this machine I added to the gameroom. It has GameKing 6.x in it now.....
-
Rydiez, your inbox is full...
Regardless of whether you did anything with the bv or cash box, the machine is saying your bill acceptor door is open. Just tapping on the door will probably clear it. Your machine should then be ready for play.
The other letters in the corner are inactive tilts, and will disappear after a game is played.
-
Jon,
My in box is empty now. Thanksnfor.thr heads up. Cleared up the "key" symbol on the Sentry Bezel. The blue ambulance sign is still blinking blue however.
-
Anything still showing up highlighted on the top right of the screen?
-
Yes, as of last night I was getting the same four. I am not home so I cant fire it up. But, even after the red key went away on the Sentry the same 4 codes remained on the screen and the blue ambulance light continued to blink.
-
The flashing blue light in this case is being caused by the BV door open tilt. Clear that and the game will allow the bv to come up and the game should be good to go. I'm curious if there's a dummy lock on your BV door or were the wires to the bv door switch jumped? Either way, just holler back if there's still an issue and we'll figure it out.
-
Sounds good. I'll report back this evening. Thanks for all your time!
