Title: Ruby Slippers Set-Up
Post by: 777tow on July 28, 2016, 01:34:40 AM
My cousin is trying to set up a BB2 with OLED and load Ruby Slippers (Stand Alone version). He says that when he clears and loads the game will not load, but after setting up in diagnostics, and closing the door, the load bar shows progress of loading and when it's done, the screen goes to the WMS screen with Call Attendant. I read someplace here that you have to disable the top box? Is this right? What is he doing wrong? Can anyone help?

The original game has a top box with some lights that are controlled by a topbox controller.  Most of us here "emulate" this controller by using a tsetse board.  Your Call Attendant message is probably "top box lost communication"  Have your cousin turn the reset key switch to verify that is indeed the problem.  Also the setup procedure is normal, on bb2's the game does not load until the setup process is completed, so there's nothing wrong with that section.  The disable topbox option in under the menu"game setup", I believe it is one of the options all the way down at the bottom of the page so he's going to have scroll down the list to find it.

:thank_you:WMSBB2OWNER and Rick....it was the top box setting. Disabled it and worked like a charm. Can you believe my cousin is messing with a BB2 on on a tug boat?

Hello,

I'm pretty new to the world of BB2 slot machines and I'm having an issue with setting this game (Wizard of Oz Ruby Slippers) up.

I'd like to get a better understanding of how to disable the 'Top Box' settings while installing this.  Any help would be appreciated!

Background:    I purchased the game software from eBay (This is a vendor I've purchased from before, and have had excellent service from).  I've used two separate OS cards with the same results when trying to install this game.

Issue: When installing the WOZ software, I cannot 'find' the game when setting the machine up.

Disclaimer:  1.  The vendor from eBay has been awesome to work with, but he's currently unavailable.  2.  I've used the ram clear chip.  3.  I'm currently using OS H13.37.  4.  I know the compact flash slot is good.  I can reinstall the previous game on this machine with no issues.

Help Requested: I need to try disabling the 'Top Box' but I just don't see how to do it.  I've been through all the menus and don't see how to disable it.... I'm sure I'm doing something wrong here.   I've attached a few photos that may help.....I just can't 'see' the game when setting it up.  What am I missing when trying to disable the 'Top Box' during setup?

The attached photos show the setup screen on my BB2 and no game listed during setup.

Thank you for all the help here, and sorry if I missed another post describing how to do this!

do a power cycle like it says.  Set up the game like you do for the other one you have. Then after all is set up go to game setup screen and you should find the option to disable the top box there.

I haven't done that one for a while so not all together positive.  Also you do have the license dongle installed correct?  Don't remember if this game required one???

Thanks for the help iramack,

I rebooted the machine and still have the same issues:

WOZ does not show on the 'Game Setup' screen.

Here's photos of the current Setup Screen and Game Setup Screen, hope it helps!

The screen that has the 'disable the top box' option is not visible until you scroll down to the bottom of the list on that page. Sorry, I can't remember the steps to get there.

Update:

Read reply #1 above, he tells you how to get there.

Thanks Pinaddicted

Side Note:  I have a collection of pins too.  If you look closely in the images, you see the reflection of my 'The Getaway, HS2' translite.

Now, back to business:

I turned the reset (Jackpot) key from the Game Setup screen.  The machine went to 'Touchscreen Calibration'.  I turned the key a second time and nothing happened.

Am I missing something obvious here?  I'm still stuck at the Game Setup Screen with a game that will not load.

Thanks!

Did you do a power cycle?

Several times.

If the door is closed after a power cycle and I turn the jackpot key, get the 'Attendant Menu'.  If I turn the Jackpot Key again the 'Touchscreen Calibration' appears.

Restarting again for good measure.....

...Here's the screen after the restart.

Doors are closed.

Any thoughts?

What does the screen say in the upper right corner after you turn the jackpot key?

After the machine was restarted, and door closed, I turned the jackpot key.

In the upper right corner I see:  "Pending Status", and below that I see, " Attendant Menu Entered and No Games Configured"

After you ram cleared the machines, did you go into CREDIT SETUP and select the denom and payback percentage / Paytable??

Once that is done, then you can go into GAME SETUP > I believe the Disable Top box is in the first tab.. cant remember... either way, scroll down to the bottom and you'll see the option to disable top box. I think this menu wont show up until you set up the game under CREDIT SETUP.

Thanks for the reply coolwavpic and iramack,

I'm unable to set the Denom Config....

Here's what I did:

1.  Cleared Machine
2.  Installed OS and WOZ cards
3.  Restarted Machine
4.  Entered the Setup menu
5.  Went directly to the Credit Units Screen
6.  Entered Base Denom (0.01) and made sure Multi-Denom was enabled
7.  Pressed Set Button
8.  Now, Denom Configuration is no longer greyed out.  I selected Denom Configuration
9.  Received Devices Not Set Message.

I have four photos to attach as well....in sequence to show what I did.

Note:  I will need to send the photos in two separate posts.

I've followed the BB2 setup video on youtube from 'BettorSlots' (many thanks!!).

Here's the link:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzXyKWsmdXQ&pp=ygUMYmV0dG9yIHNsb3Rz (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzXyKWsmdXQ&pp=ygUMYmV0dG9yIHNsb3Rz)

I couldn't follow exactly step by step, but did what the machine would allow me to do.

Still no luck.

The following photos show the Setup Menu, Paytable Menu, and Game Setup Screens.

Still stuck.

I cannot set the paytables and cannot 'see' the game in the settings menu.

Any ideas?

If you are seeing NOTHING in the Denom Config screen than its a bad GAME CARD. I would go back to the seller and ask him to fix it for you. Basically it looks like the OS is loading but not reading the game card and that is why you see nothing in the DENOM CONFIG screen.
