Title: WMS BB1 Has No Sound
Post by: Dirtguy on December 11, 2018, 02:22:13 PM

Hi
I have a BB1 (no top screen) that used to have a NXT2 CPU in it. I replaced the 2 CPU with a BB1 CPU and now I have no sound. The NXT2 had an orange audio plugged into the top of it, the BB1 CPU has nowhere to plug it into. Looking at another BB1 I see that there is a different board under the amp . Looks like I have 2 connecters unplugged without a place to plug them into. My question is , do I have to get that different  board or is there something else to do to get sound. Game plays good just no sound - machine did have sound with the NXT2. Attached first pic is Machine with no sound, 2nd pic is of another working BB1 with sound with the board I think I have to get.

Any input much appreciated, Thanks Dan

There are at least 3 different wiring methods for sound. What you have on those two photos and one that uses an 3.5mm Mini jack.  There's an audio molex connector on the backplane.  There are 2 harnesses available for that.  One that ends in a white flat connector that plugs into the earlier amp design (as in your photo, the "green amp one") and one that ends in a stereo 3.5mm Minijack that plugs into the blue one (which also has the digital rca plug on it).  All you have to do is source the cable with the minijack on it and you are good to go.  There should be a minijack plug in the amp board next to the rca digital connector (the single coax cable).  You should also unplug the rca cable from the amp board as grounding sometimes makes the amp believe it should take input from the rca digital connector instead of the analog minijack plug.
