Title: Help reset credits
Post by: ziofreddy on December 19, 2023, 12:27:27 PM
Hi there,
I have a problem that could be really funny in a casinĂ² but at home is very hard to solve. I have over 3000 credits on my machine but the max payout is 600 coins. I'm trying to reach the zero playing with the machine but or I'm really lucky or the machine is not working well. I continue to win a lot of credits with lucky reels combination. Anyway, is there any action I can do to reset the credit without pulling the Eprom on the MPU as I read in other topics in this forum? Do I have to push the "cash out" button and after the 600 coins are out I have to turn the Jackpot Key to reset all the remaining credit? Or I have to disconnect the cash out button (the risk is pushing the button accidentally...) and have to play for the rest of my life without using coins? In a real casino when you call an attendant after winning a lot of coins (over the machine maximum payout) what he does with the machine to reset it? I don't think he open the slot, extract the MPU, extract the Eprom, insert the Eprom again to let the machine work again... :Scratch-Head:
Thank you

A lot depends on what the limits were set at BEFORE you started accumulating them.
Normally, the machine will go into a hand-pay, with you needing a Jackpot Reset key, to knock off all of the credits if you ty to cash out anything over a 1000 credits.
The yellow sticker on your reel glass says 600 credits but who knows if it was ever progammed that way?
Some casinos progammed the machines to do split-pays - which confuses eveyone...lol

This is one of the few times a Clear chip would be helpful....but you'd have to have the proper SET key to re-enable the bill acceptor.
Both of which is very easy to come by if you talk to our vendor membr RB, or Jim of Midwest slots.
Tell 'em I sent you!

There's no bill acceptor on an early S+.  :propeller:

Thanks for answer.
So, without bill acceptor in this machine, can I use the jackpot key to reset the credit that remain after "cash out"? Turning that key will reset the credit that remain? If I push the button I suppose the machine pay the coin till the limit was set and then...?
Thank you

The Jackpot Reset key should knock them all off, if your machine locks up to go into handpay mode.

All done!!
I pushed the cash out, the machine stopped working, loud "ding ding" begin and the two candle lights begin to flash. After that I turn the reset key and the credit fall to zero. That's all.
Now I have to understand how to check and change the max payout of this machine.
Thank you for help!

Glad to help!

I would leave them as they are for now.
It's too easy for the un-experienced home-owner to get into the menus and mess up things...especially during the holiday season when lots of things are going on.
Enjoy your gaming machine!  :cool_thumb_up:
