Title: S2000-%-Payout
Post by: IFFV68 on March 06, 2014, 08:42:02 PM
I had a S-2000 that was paying out most of the time. It just kept hitting with fewer losses than normal. I like to have my machines pay like the Casinos, maybe a little more than the Casinos. I checked the Payout Table and it was set at 85%.
My Slot Guru came over & we change it to 96.??%. Now it seems more normal.
Question is,
I was under the assumption that the lower the % the less likely you would hit anything large. It's a 2x3x4x5x Double Diamand. Started out with $.50 & it went up to $12,000 in no time.
Was this just luck being the kit was just installed?
Any additional knowledge would be helpful.
THX.

No rhyme or reason, just pure luck.  Over a LOOONNNNGGG period of time, you would have more or less reached your 85% payout.  It's what is called "regression to the mean."  A hihger payout means less for you in the long run.  These gaming machines are a long term proposition, if you can't ride the short term, then this should probably not be your line of business.  Casinos in general have so many machines, that it evens out in the short term.  But yes, small operators will go ride the high volatility wave, especially those themes that have all kinds of multipliers.  A less volatile title would probably be better for a small operator, slow earnings but steady. The titles with high volatility can generate a LOT of income fast, but it can also bleed you fast too, it's all in the numbers (or in this case the RNG).

I think I've played some of those 85%, on the losing end.
When you are playing at home not using real money one tends to lose track of how much is really played.

Thank You for your reply.
