DBV-200 SH Bill Validator for a V5500

(1/1)

David Walz:
Just to inform people about my adventure with my 1995, V5500, and maybe this will benefit others.

The original DBV-45 SH from 1995, will not work on the new US bills, we all know about that problem.  :duh: So I been running around in circles trying to figure out what to do with it, since all these bill validators are getting really difficult to locate.  :banghead: What I didn't know was that two different models, the DBV-200 SH for Bally and DBV-200 SS  for IGT. The Bally bill entry slots protrudes out (duck bill).

Once I located a DBV-200 SH for the Bally, I learned that the DBV-45 SH has a circuit board #AS-3356-202, which also plugs into the DBV-200 SH, which maybe a no brainer for some people, however I forget about this AS-3356-202.  :Scratch-Head:

David Walz:
This is the AS-3356-202. Be extra careful in plugging the connections into the sockets, they are easily buggered up.   :nerd: I was fortunate enough to have guidance from Tim, at Sunrise Side he sent me the correct DBV-200 SH for the Bally V5500, and it works excellent.  :applause:
:woot: Important note: be sure you reset the bill validator after you are done.
