Title: S2000 with 504 MPU Board has no sound when playing game

I just started a new project, it a S2000 Super Mag 7 Game.. I changed the battery and the game came to life.. I noticed that there was no money sound or sound when the reel spin.. Checking the option sound menu I found the volumes at about the half way setting.. I do get the ding in the speakers when the volumes are turned up and down.. This is a 504 MPU REV B and it had a MMII board attached, but no SIMM.. I removed the MMII board thinking maybe it was causing my no sound, but still the same, no money, or reel spin sounds?? I do hear static in both speakers, but the ding from adjusting the volume is only in the left speaker.. I decided to try a clear and Key.. I had no alarm on my first ram error message, but i did on the second one?? After finishing the Clear and key I still am without Money in sound, and reel spin sounds?? The wires are attached to the sound board in the top box.. I'm confused..  :Scratch-Head:

Do you have a simm you can put in for a test? I would also unplug the tray speaker for now. And without a sound simm you will not get stereo sound so left speaker only is typical with your setup

Gary,
If you have another game to compare it to check the wiring in the top box going to the sound board many S2Ks are only set up to use the left speaker. I have had to change where the pins go on many S2Ks. Not the speaker out wiring, it's the sound in harness going to the sound board. I would send a picture but I'm on my cell phone.

Super Mag 7 uses a dedicated SIMM DSV00076 & has NO sound without one. A DSV00042 will work for reel spin & roll up sounds but doesn't give the full effect for the bonus spin.

So let me get this straight, Super Mag 7 would not even have the standard legacy sound found in other S2K machines if there is no sound SIMM?  I do have a DSV00042 here some where that I think works.. I know about the left only speaker found in a lot of these, and I don't have the low speaker and coin tray on the machine..

thanks for the video link. That was very interesting to hear. Looks like I'm going to be looking to buy that DSV00076 sound SIMM.. I'm just glad it's not the MPU.

You're welcome Gary. Your 42 will work for now. It gives a buzzer sound for the bonus spin but the 76 is definitely the way to go! I'm pretty sure Blue Ridge and/or Bettor Slots has that SIMM.

Found my DSV00042 sound simm. The machines sound does work with it installed, but the buzzing noise when you have three 7's in very annoying to say the least.  At least I know the MPU is fine, as is the wiring and sound board.. Thanks for the help RB..  :1: :1:
