Title: Fortune 1 aka "The Mouse House"
Post by: 63mini on June 09, 2017, 01:56:39 PM

Below is the Fortune 1 that I have recently acquired.

I will start by saying that there are times in your life when you should say "No" and just walk away. Well, I didn't...  :Tongue_Out:  Anyway, This is what I purchased.  I have found out the following:

 1. There was at one time a mouse living inside. It made a bit of a mess and it had a slight appetite for wire. Luckily, it did not prefer colored ribbon cable.
 2. The monitor has a short and blows fuses.
 3. The interface board has two shorts.
  4. It does not register coins going in. (Maybe the interface board shorts)
 5. The buttons do not illuminate the LED's on the interface board correctly. (Maybe the interface board shorts)
 6. The e-prom sockets are corroded and are starting to fall apart. (I have replaced those)

I'm sure I will fine more issue's as I go. But, sometimes, I like the challenge and I think this game is going to be the one. It is currently up and limping but, not playing. The monitor shown working is from another game that uses a RGB monitor.  The price I paid was $70 with the stand so, I am not out too much.

Also, I could use a piece of red laminate. Does anyone have a 4" square piece I could buy?

Lastly, what is the perf board piece in the back? (Last photo)

You have my permission to remove the perf board piece. Just leave the input wires joined together as soldered (2 and 2) and tape them so they don't short to something.

Badbaud,

Thanks for your reply. I was hoping I could remove that as, I may need those two blue relays. Are those still available or, is there a cross part?

I think they are still available in many voltage ratings, troll Mouser Electronics.
