3rd reel short spin its on the board for sure , moved board to another cabinet and dose the same thing, any clues to what runs 3rd reel motor
thanks in advance
-
No error on the short spin??
Did you use a different SB chip in the other cabinet?
How short?
-
no swapped whole board 502 , spin is shorter than normal but shows reel tilt on 3rd reel , i'll try switching chip in morning
-
If you got a reel tilt probably not the SB. I did not know you were getting a tilt from your first post. Does it initialize from the boot OK? When do you get the tilt? MPU suspect.
-
Probably one of the chips in the reel circuitry.
-
only wish I knew which one

The sections are labled if its a 3 reel machine you can swap parts from reel 5. I think there is a schematics in the download section.
-
yes 3 reel game, I,ll check downloads thanks

Surface mount have fun

It would be nice if someone could figure out what happens to the MPU to cause a short spin reel tilt. I had a board do this a few months back. I ended up having to swap out the MPU to fix the problem
-
I have never had short spin or I would be willing to give it a shot. Yes a lot of the parts are surface mount.
-
I have a board here that does it on the boot spin, and in game setup. I think it was reel 3, but not 100% sure. It I know where the surface mount chip was, and what were reels 1-5 I'd swap a part from 4 or 5 to fix this board. Dang MPU boards have gone up in price this past year.

the reel circuitry is all under the sound board on the 50x boards. i have repairs so many board its easy for me to do but not so easy to explain in text. i usually just swap all the components for that one reel from another board while i have the area heated with my re flow station anyway. i was unaware the prices were going up but its to be expected. every time i need parts i just take the part from a machine with junk cabinet or harness damage.
To clarify i have never had a board that quicke spined but i have had boards where one or more reels would not spin at all.
-
I might just swap board and wait for a snow day to repair but I too have a load of bad 50 boards plenty of spare parts , or give it to wife to fix, she has done a dozen or so power supplys

The short spin is probably not the motor circuit. It would be in the optic read circuit. Kind of like when you have a broken optic tab on a reel it short spins the difference here is it's an electrical problem on the MPU.
Rainy day repair attempt in my book, boards are still cheaper than the time I would spend on repairs. One day that may not be the case as boards get scarce.

On some board problems I totally agree. I would never waste my time rebuilding battery leakage damage for door optics. But stuff like faild senet buffer chip that is easy takes no time at all. I also wait until i have maybe 10 or more boards saved up and do them all at once.

where do I I download of 502 board I found downloads igt but not boards
thanks in advance
