Can you post a photo of this machine so we know what platform it is? You posted this help request in the IGT Fortune II area but I'm not sure it is a Fortune II??

Also, it is not possible to "delete the rom", did you mean they cleared the ram?

That's not a Fortune II machine. If we can identify it one of the NLG staff people will move this discussion thread to the correct area. This may be an Aristrocrat MK6 machine.

Is there an idplate on the side of the machine that might help? Are there any other error messages (other than the one you mentioned earlier) or boot sequence messages that you get when you power it up?

Are you in Australia or New Zealand? At one time (maybe still) I think there was a legal requirement for all slot machines to be network connected to a central server at the casino for security and auditing reasons. If the machine is disconnected from the network it goes into "play disabled" mode. I'm not sure about all of this, do you know if the machine was playing ok before, or did someone buy this on the used equipment market and hasn't seen it work?

That's good that it was working before, means that a network connection is not needed and the machine will play as a "stand-alone" slot. Odd that someone would select a choice to delete or erase a setting on a machine that was working ok.

It is probably an Aristocrat, they are very popular in your part of the world and I think IGT partnered with them on some machines so that is why you will see IGT written on it. Unfortunately I don't know much about Aristocrat machines, I got into this thread because of the Fortune II topic area you posted in. Hopefully someone else will know something to suggest.

Do you have any slot dealers nearby? They are likely to be familiar with your machine and what is needed.

Just in case, you can read thru the Aristocrat forum area, see if anything sounds familiar. Also the manual might be helpful, do you have it available or know where to get it? What about the idplate on the side of the machine?

Since it was working fine if you can find out what the other person did to cause the problem that might help to know what to do to fix it.

Does it require a key to turn a keyswitch to gain access to the service menu?

What about the idplate on the side of the machine?

Maybe you can step thru whatever menu screens it will display and see a list of faults or errors. That might give information as to why the machine is disabled.

This is an IGT BlueChip machine (AU1 cabinet), they came out after the i960-based Spectrum/GU4 series. As the EPROMs say QLD (Queensland) on them the game is most likely "disabled" since QCOM either isn't hooked up or it can't connect to the server.

As for IGT, they have nothing to do with Aristocrat - AGT (Ainsworth Gaming Technology) is the one rokgpsman might be thinking of, Ainsworth and Aristocrat split in the early 90s (early Aristocrat video slots such as the MK2.5s usually have a 1986 Ainsworth copyright string regardless of the year they were made).

Edit: There actually was an IGT/Aristocrat slot machine, but these were manufactured in the early 80s, circa 1982. IGT AU1 machines are mid to late 2000s which are basically the rival machine to the Aristocrat MK6.
