Title: What is this progressive board, setup?
Post by: Badbaud on November 16, 2017, 03:19:13 PM
The customer sent me a Pro Slot S6000 board and this board.
See attached image.
The Mikohn board had a dead battery so I replaced it.

What documentation could I send him to show him how to get the Mikohn board up and running with his S6000 board when put back in his machine?

Did you replace the battery with the same panisonc?
That is a rechargeable battery and must be replaced with a rechargeable battery. Very bad things and even a fire hazard if you don't.

I'm not sure, but I think it may have to programed in the machine it goes with. Someone else here may be more knowledgeable then me though.

That's a spin off of a cham II board--Michon bought sigma back in the day,  Mikohn always was sign people.  Sorry about the spelling.  I don't have the stuff to program that but the program should still be on it unless endless dicking around has been done.  The battery is not re-chargeable. All the manufactures used the mikhon signage stuff back then.

That is a chamii stand alone, the battery is definitely a rechargeable type sorry to pop your bubble Barry.
And yes it will need to be programmed with the battery change and it can be done outside the machine.

Rich,  Not popping my bubble at all as I dealt with all this stuf yearssssssssssss ago so memory may be rusty-forgive me.  I still have some in a box that will fire up with wof program on them.  Guess The old man needs to stay out of this and stick to the new stuff--Ride your bubble!.  15-20 year old ni-cad rechargeable batteries will not last that long before taking a dump and being spent if that's your spill, Also You claim that when batt. is gone so is data on the board. I used to have the sheet and programs to flash/program these years ago-didn't use them much-Probably should have kept all that.

Yeah I know it's been a while since these were popular.  I  still have six machines in my house complete with scrolling messages.  They are rechargeable lithium batteries. I got tired of having to reprogram them if I had a machine turned off for more than two weeks and the old batteries went dead. Since I replaced the batteries in them I have had some of them turned off for more than 2 months and the programming stayed in tact.  They are not hard to program once you have done a few ( it does require an old laptop software and some special cables) but in my opinion it's worth it. I'm not that far behind you (powerstroke) I have been here a while maybe not first generation NLG.
Like you use to a can flash program mine from saved data on my old window 95 laptop (boy I hope that doesn't go bad)

Just poking you a little all in fun.
