Hello, so I am new to the slot machine side of ownership, and I am having problems with the bill validator that I bought off spin. My machine didn't have a harness for it so I bought one also, and I can get it to turn on and test but can't get it to take any bills. I have looked through the other topics and didn't see anything that helped me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

What machine do you have this in? Hopefully you bought the bill acceptor for your machine? IGT, Bally each use a different software version.
-
Hello, it's an IGT, I got to from spin that it's the correct BV.

For S+ or S2000?
-
I believe it's an s2000 model#96438300
Triple double jackpot.

OK is the BV you bought from spin programmed for S2000 or S plus? They use different software.
-
I guess I'm not sure. Is there a way to be able to tell, or to reprogram it?
-
First we need to know what machine you have. Can you post a pic. You should see a sticker on your bill acceptor that has what software version it has.
-
Hello, I tried to upload a picture but it's to big. Anyways, How do I tell what software it has on it? I know it has 8 dip switches on the front right side of it.
-
Resize the pic. Do you have a copy of paperwork from spin that came with it? It should say what machine it is for or there should be a sticker with a number on it on the BV,

If you use your phone, I will send the pic from my email to me email. When sending a pic my phone asks how big I’d like the file being sent. Use one under 1K and you should be fine.

Here are a few I think I got to work.
-
Looking for a sticker that’s says something like v3.80 ID024
-
I did not see anything like that. Those are the only stickers I saw on the bv. Nothing else, not even any markings. I did send an email to spin to see what was uploaded.
-
Did you enable the validator with netplex autoconfig? When you say you are able to test it, how are you doing that?
-
Hello, spin got back to me and said that the bv is for a IGT S2000 and is programed as IDO24. Bv is enabled and by testing it I flip the dip switches on except for #8.
-
Does the validator cycle "makes noises" when you power up the machine? Are you able to do a bill test using the I/O tests (should be test 4.8 Bill Test)? where you insert a bill and the machine will tell you what bill you inserted.
-
The bv does make noises when starting up and then makes 2 clicks, I can't get into the bill tests but it does show up on the screen just can't click into it. Also, when I go to Auto-configure Netplex devices, it says Bill acceptor: not responding. But I do have 2 red lights on the bv that are staying lit not flashing.
-
The wires coming from the harness I noticed not all are plugged in but I don't have a printer so not sure if this is suppose to go to the printer or not.
-
The harness doesn’t use every plug. When you bought your bill acceptor, did you buy a whole assembly from spin, or just a transport, or bill head separate? Can you take a picture of you slot machine from the front with door closed and one with it open. Like to see what machine you actually have.
-
Are all the dip switches in the off position?
-
If I flip all the dip switches off, the bezel? light on the door won't light up but with #8 on it will light up. Also I did buy the whole assembly from spin.
-
for normal operation all the switches must be in the up position!! turn the machine on, press the test button on the cpu board 1 time, the left two buttons should be lit and you should see ACCOUNTING in the display, press the spin button to get into that menu, now use the bet one button to go through the menu,go to 1.6 version accounting, press the spin reels button, this will take you in this menu, now press the bet 1 button until you see the PV6- bill information, let it scroll across the display , this is the information the machine is seeing as to what the bill unit is actually programmed too! hopefully you will see this : IDO024, VERSION 3.8 034. this will prove that the unit is programmed for an IGT machine. press the max bet button 4 or 5 times to get out of the test menus.
Hope this helps.

You are also missing the duck bill to guide the bill into the validator.
-
I do know I'm missing that piece still looking to get one for the bv to the door.
I go to the PV6 Bill and it says Not Configured. I did reset the machine and put all the dip switches down.
-
Ok so I finally got it to install after I set it to auto config. But now when I do a book test it says Bill validator door closed and doesn't do a bill test.
-
I close the door and says Bill validator comm failure
-
open the door and close it again, you may have stacked errors.
-
True. You may have what’s called stacked errors. The only way to clear them is to open and close the main door 3-4 times. Every time you open and close the door it clears one error.
