Title: MK7 Jurisdiction Chip Question - Higher Limit Payouts - Also Setchip Info
Post by: Shoreline Electronics on June 08, 2020, 07:32:00 PM
Hi Folk,

I have what I believe is a Mk7 machine that will only let you insert $100 max credit and only allow $1200 max credit/winnings.

I assume there's a workaround for this...just like with the Columbia JUR chip for WMS machines.

I've skimmed through many posts here, but didn't see any mention of how to do this.

Thanks in advance for help & guidance !

If your not sure what machine you have, then you'll need to post pictures of your machine.
Once we know what you have for sure, then we can give you the correct answer.
The pictures will need to be under 1 megabyte in size.

Standard USA platform by the sound of it. Don't know if it's the same with newer machines but with ye olde MK5s if you change the jurisdiction to a non-US region (Uruguay etc.) in the setchip it removes the caps. Can't remember if it does the same with the bill acceptor limit but I know the credit/win limit goes from $1199.99 to $99999.99.

You do have a MK7 machine but I don't have a manual for it.
One of the others here will have the instructions to change the limits.
I know how to change the MK6 but not the MK7.

The bill validator max limit you change in the setup.
I set mine at $10000.
If you cant find out where Ill take a picture later today.
If you set the jurisdiction as "columbia" there will be no limit on winnings.

It is under the bill validator settings in the setup menu, it defaults to $100 (whoever set this default needs to think about it for next time).  I set mine to 90,000 credits, they go fast when playing lighting links at .10.  I never thought about changing jurisdictions to allow for the higher jackpot limits, need to do that next time I change games.  It really sucks to have to keep feeding $100's to get the credit count up since the major jackpots (and these games are so volatile) go to handpay.

Soooo... I reset the machine with the proper setchip that came with the game, setting the Jurisdiction to Columbia along with the USA currency for the Bill Validator,  Save everything properly ( Opening the logic door when prompted and then pressing 6.

Game loads and comes up with typical errors since the touchscreen, printer & Bill Val are not configured.  I go into Audit mode and configure those 3, but it still gives me an error.  See photo.

What step am I missing ??   :Scratch-Head:

I think the program storage error means you are using the wrong setchip version.  What version did you select while doing the setchip procedure?

I selected 7.01.13

See the photos of the game software and set chip.

I've changed games a few times before on this machine ( I have Wicked Winnings II & Buffalo ) with no problems.

This was working fine until I tried to change the Jurisdiction to Columbia.....I've put it back to my original setting of Indiana ( See pic)

Try setting it to multi denom in the money setup

So does it work when you set it back to indiana and leave everything else the same?  I was going to try doing the colombia thing, but if it is not going to work, I'm not even going to try it.  I know with Bally, for example, your sjur has to match the software on your validator.  So if you have US firmware, it won't work, unless you have us based jurisdiction.  On wms it doesn't make any difference though.

Boom!   That fixed it!

So I have it back to good ol' Indiana Jurisdiction with $1199 max jackpot....$100.00

I'll make note of these "defualt" settings here and play around with the Columbia settings.

Thank you VERY much !

Amazing how one minor setting sets these things off into no mans land !     :thank_you: :thank_you:

So for reference I've attached the setup screens.

The Columbia setting worked great...as long as that Multi Denom is set, there are no errors.

When you changed jurisdiction from Indiana to Columbia it changed your money set up from multi denom to single.Single is the default.
I have all mine set with Columbia with no problems.

Anytime you get the "cant clear static ram" is usually a incorrect money setting. Some games are multi denom and some are not.
Another thing that can cause that error is incorrect variation setting.

Good to know!   I just did the Multi Option to be safe and it took it with no error.

BTW, if you want a looser machine than the default 87% you will need to change the percentage variation from 99 to 1, 2, 3 or 4 (if the game software supports more than one variation).
