Title: 1997 Bally Game Maker Troubleshooting - RESOLVED
Post by: ecp_malay on September 10, 2020, 02:39:51 PM

Just wanted to update this post and confirm that obtaining a "P10" clear chip (for around $15 on ebay) was in fact the corrective action here.  Took me multiple times through the process to get the settings correct (or the way I wanted them) but my Game Maker is up and running like a champ!  9 games installed, coin in and hopper working great.
Hello and thanks for adding me to this group!  I recently acquired this non-working 1997 Bally Game Maker machine.  When powered on it just sits at a blue screen which flashes about every couple of seconds.  What I know at this point is all the indicator lights on the front of the processor board are all steady green.  I checked the battery on the board and it is reading 3.7 volts.  If I hold the reset button in the screen goes dark but when I release it just turns blue again and none of the indicator lights on the front of the board flash or change at all....they just stay steady green.  Any advice on where to look next for troubleshooting?  Thanks in advance for any insight you can offer.  I am in the Tulsa, OK area.

I've got a P10 "clear" chip ordered.  I'm going to try that next.

I have had this symptom in the past where U-3 on the MPU turns out to be bad.

Hello, any update on this machine? Did you get it working?
Did U3 or clear chip prove to be a resolve? Thanks
