Title: spintek hopper wont pull out
Post by: puckhead on September 15, 2020, 08:41:00 AM
never saw an s plus with this hopper. its stuck solid, a good pull doesnt budge it. there are tokens stuck under it , but it feels more solid than that. do they pull out like other hoppers? anything i should be wary of with this hopper? im thinking of buying the machine
thanks

I'm not familiar with that in an S+. Is there perhaps a button or lever to press/hold down to remove the hopper? I've seen those on other machines...

How about you post a pic of the whole front of the hopper. That way we can see what’s going on better. Not just pics of jammed tokens🤨

When I have come across this type of problem it's usually stuck because of the plug is being bound in the female side. Generally one of the plug screws on the machine side is loose or missing. Try putting a a screwdriver between the plug area and wiggle it around.

Maybe remove the screws that holds the gold anodized base ?

I think the problem is a loose "Beau plug" where the hopper plugs into.

When it's loose, it won't release the big middle ground pin....so the harder you pull, the tighter it gets....like Chinese Fingers!!

The only to get it to release is to turn the power off, go behind the hopper with a large flat screwdriver and work it in there between the beau plug and the hopper plug....it WILL start to spread apart and be easier to come out as you work the screwdriver in.

Before re-installing the hopper afterwards, make sure both the hopper male plug and the female beau plugs have good, tight screws or it will get stuck again.

oh...the SpinTek is just a fancy base that was hooked up to the backroom security at one time...there will be phone jack plugs on the back of of it....none of this stuff will hinder or bother you for home use and enjoyment....it was a real solidly-built base.

if you decide to remove this device from your machine - the hopper will be lower and not match up to the door chute.

That's strange. I removed one & replaced it with a standard S Plus hopper plate. Door chute was not an issue.

When you remove that device (i believe they called an auto-fill ) which would flash the special light tower indicating the hopper was getting low by weight. the hopper will now be LOWER in the cabinet and not match the chute on the door - I did a lot of these and found out the hard way when coins would jam.

The Spinktek plate raises the hopper approx 1/4". Lowering it back to factory height would provide more clearance for the coin in chute. If coins/tokens are hitting the door panel when you cash out instead of falling to the tray, it would be because the wrong set of holes were used to mount the factory plate. That would move the hopper away from the drop opening in the door panel & has nothing to do with returning the hopper to factory height.

I think RB's photo may have the solution to the original poster's issue.  There appears to be a lever to press down to release the hopper.

Yes it does but I don't see one in his picture. He can unscrew the whole unit from the cabinet as previously suggested then try to separate the hopper from it.
