Title: What's the correct reel glass for this 847 (and where can I get one)?
Post by: Simple Sam on October 07, 2020, 09:01:17 PM
I got an 847 with matching award and belly glass but the reel glass doesn't match.  I'm not sure what the reel glass should look like; I assume it should have the same orange, red, and yellow of the belly glass.  The one I have looks good but I'm pretty sure it shouldn't have the wood grain trim, the yellow has a pattern in it, and the gold trim is a different style. Does anybody have a picture of what the reel glass should look like? It doesn't have to be an 847 as I'm sure there are other games using that color scheme.  And, of course, does anybody have one for sale or know where one might be?

what's the full model number on the plate below the handle (the upper number is the model, lower is serial number).

some of the glass has the part number on the back side.  Do you see any numbers?  Top glass is easiest to check.

The game is an 847 with no model extension.  I checked the reel glass but I did not see any part numbers on the back; I didn't remove the frame so that might hide numbers.  The game has a manufactured date of 1974.

I assume that the glass was changed at some point as it seems more like an 80's color scheme (like the E models can have) than a 1974 scheme.  Did Bally offer new color schemes for casinos that wanted to update their machines to a more contemporary look?

the original reel glass was G-358-4.  Feature glass is G-366-2 and display glass is G-359-4.

which is belly glass and top glass I forget at the moment.  Won't help ya if there aren't part numbers on the glass.

G-358-4 was the most common reel glass, but there was 10 or so others in the 38 847 models I have info for.  There were also aftermarket glasses.
