Title: Lower light not working
Post by: Coloradonewbie on August 04, 2023, 08:03:36 PM
Lower florescent light not working

So far I have replaced the bulb and ballast. Still not working. I'll check if there is power to the ballast tomorrow.  I just wondered if anyone has any suggestions.

Follow the wires back from the belly glass fluorescent lamp ballast to the power source for continuity as well but please turn the power [OFF] first and unplug from the wall...you're dealing with 120 volts AC.
Try known good bulb and ballast from from another machine.
The ballast should look be this one in the photo below, or have the same specs, imprinted with blue ink.
The ballasts imprinted with red ink, is incorrect...they're for different lamps.

I bought a non working ballast on ebay.  One from my other machine works. Thanks

You can also get rid of the ballast and just use a LED replacement.  Most of us have done that already.  Less heat, less power draw.  Also slows down your  artwork from fading and cracking due to heat.

Here's 3 different ones out there for S2000.  Just unplug the ballast and plug them in instead on the first two.

The third can be found at walmart, this one works with the ballast but are very bright for belly/reel/chop top glass, they are better for tall or round top and don't use them on an s+ they get too hot.  They are cheap, use with caution.
