Title: A Craigslist DOOFUS... a Mills M head FREE to the homeless...
Post by: shortrackskater on April 14, 2015, 09:53:13 PM
I've been watching a Mills M head slot machine, probably made in the early or mid 60's on CL, for probably 4 months. The guy was asking $650.
Just for the hell of it, I made an offer of $200.
Here's my exact text:

Hi
I've seen this for quite some time here... would you take $200 for it?
Please let me know.
thanks
mark

About five minutes later, I get this "friendly" reply:

I would rather give it to a homeless person then to except a low ball offer like yours.

So I "counter-reply" with this:

Sorry!
Usually people look at offers, and then maybe go down a little.
Excuse me for my horrible message to you.
When I get "LOW BALL" offers, I don't respond with sarcasm. I have a little more class than that.

No reply after that, In fact, he deleted the CL post!
What a weenie! He can kiss my  :buttwiggle:
And he needs to learn his "except" from his "accept." DOOFUS!

I've run into similar people.. They have their price stuck in their heads and won't budge $50... The other famous line or replay is, we paid $1500/$1800 for it ten years ago.. I just say sorry to hear that but I can buy a newer casino used machine today for $500/$1000..
I know when I get a lowball offer like that I tend to point them to the push button Jap Crap that's all over Craigslist. I say you can buy a throw away machine if that's all you can afford, or add a couple hundred to that offer and buy your self something that will give you years of pleasure, and can be repaired if it ever does break..

I guess I should have offered something higher, but you never know. I did buy my 60's Mills "open front" for the 300 I offered. He still didn't need to respond like that, although I'm laughing now!
I'll have to post another funny rant about what I said to someone on CL a while back! That person probably posted something about me on his forum!  :rotfl:
I'll save that for later...
