Title: Bally Alpha V32 Lights
Post by: JDKMunch on July 30, 2015, 03:26:01 PM
Does anyone know the wire connections specific for the different color of LED lights on the sides of the monitor.  I'd like to make a switch for easy change of color.

Attached is the picture of the molex that controls the color.

Too many questions at once grasshopper.  Your machine evidently does not support this. I am guessing you are building a v-32.  Don't know what frankenstein you started with.

No Frankenstein -  the molex in the pic is the LED matrix connector -

I read on another threads that the wire jump combinations on this molex change the colors of the leds.

I would document the wire jumps for the different color combos.   I could just "try" but don't want to damage my led strips.  My machine is May 2015 built and never hit the casino floor.

Munch, It was not built in 2015.  If that is the case you have a full blown a-2 or a over-hauled a-1 cab from bally.  There is a light controller board to change the colors.  Suggest you read more. On v-32 you can change jumpers to change colors as well.  Snap a shot of what you have.  You know the drill, It helps to know Exactly what you have on what you are working on.

You're right - I just went to take a pic and it was May of 2014

Here is the thread -  I'm looking for the wiring of the  3 position switch he's talking of,

Since it is So new --Share a pic of the game. The jumper thing has already been addresed-The mod-I never came up with that . Pretty easy to do though.  You can even add hardware from bally if you can't get it on this. Keep in mind some things don't "digest" well on alpha 2 platform.

This is one of my favorite hits of all time.  I think I literally shit myself when this happened.

anyway.. thread on topic -  I want to know that is the wiring on the molex to change the side LED lighting from blue to green to red.

If you look at the connector that the jumper is plugged into, you will note that there is a pair of Red, a pair of Green, and a pair of Blue wires.  Basically each of the two wires in each pair represent the left and the right side of the door leds.  If you put both cables going into the blue wires, you will get a blue light on both sides.  If you put one wire into the left red and a wire into the right blue, you will get the left side red and the right side blue.

Does this make sense.  Otherwise I will take photos and explain graphically.

By the way, I have seen alpha2 V32 cabinets that have the led controller to dynamically switch the lights.  If anybody has pinout information to make this harness, I will be forever grateful.  :applause: :applause: :applause:

This is awesome - thank you thank you thank you!

I tried one side and it works!!  It is exactly what I  was looking for.

I liked the color blue the best but for roulette green is better!

I'm glad it worked out like you wanted.  I have a theory which I have not yet tested and I'm afraid to test, but theoretically, if you put a jumper between two colors in the same row, you should be able to combine them to make a 3rd color, like mixing blue and red and getting purple, or turning all leds and getting white?

Did they make factory jumpers for different colors?  My one V32 has a factory looking jumper with a B on it. (LEDS are blue).  My other V32 has wires pushed into the connector for another color. (don't really like that)  I was thinking of making different jumpers to make changing the colors easier.
