Title: IGT S2000 Pressing denomination button not working for me
Post by: swallowedinthesea on March 25, 2014, 10:19:04 PM
Hello all. I have the IGT S2000 Triple Lucky 7s (5 reel slot) multi-denomination machine. Everything works fine except that whenever I press the price denomination button at the front like 5 cents button from 50 cents button, it does not change; it still is at 50 cents. I had others who were fortunate that they successfully changed it to 5 cents and played happily (I didn't ask how at the time because I was busy with another task).

Is there some kind of routine to change denomination that I'm not aware of because it should be easy as just pressing a button I think?  :EmoticonHelp4:

I am new and this is the first machine I've ever owned. Thank you in advance.

If you have the touch pad on the reel glass for changing demons I would suggest opening the door to make sure the pad is plugged into the bottom of the light box. If it is, you may have a bad touch pad or the game may not be set up for multidenom even though there is a pad in place. You can go I to key menu 7 and check player denom settings to verify

This can happen when the touch pad, light box, are not positioned correctly
Which causes the touch pad to be pinched changing the normal capacitance of one the touch pad areas.
1/16" or less can make a big difference in functionality.

This can also happen if components on the touch pad are damaged or missing.

You can go into the I/O Tests, Input, Door, and select touchpad to test it

When you do when you get to one of the touch pad buttons and it shows a logic 1 when you are not touching that area.
That is the one that is causing you the issue they all should be 0 when you are not touching that particular area.
the order of the buttons is
1 2
3 4

The touch pad and light box are about the same size.

Try to center the denom label on the glass and then center the touch and light box on it.
hopefully the adhesive is still tacky enough to hold the touch pad and light box in place as you re-assemble everything.

I'll tell you what......I changed my dem. about 3 times...and the first time I change the decal/sticker, it was a pain in the butt to pry that touchpad off....that board is so thin!!!, but when installing a new decal to the glass, I just installed the decal so the crossline circles lined up and then put the touchpad on top of that...so I can't see the touchpad being loose......I do agree though to do a input test like foster had said.......sounds to me like a bad board..

When I changed my 1st denom decal the decals are so well glued that the bending of the board damaged the the pad. you are best to use a hair dryer to heat the decal a bit so it comes off with ease.
