the 24 vdc comes out of the power supply PIN 13 goes to a connector, pin 10 and into the main board CN1 pin 9. I am sure it is used for the reels, I would disconnect each reel and see what happens, also CN6, everything else uses 12vdc or 5 vdc. I don't have board schematics, so maybe something is using the 24 vdc on the board itself, maybe the audio amps?? maybe you can trace the 24 vdc trace and see where it goes and what it feeds??
