a few years ago i sold a nice bally 6000 to someone. they are moving and sold it to someone who drove 150 miles to get it. of course, he got it home, its not working, they called me. when its turned on, no reel spin. winner paid says 8159, and the button lights and bill acceptor blink. pressing clear will sometimes change the display to 8156, or 8156. it has leave in mains. i instructed him to move dip 8 to the right, hold down test and psudeo button while turning on machine. display never changes, no clc or chc, stays on 8159. any ideas?
thanks

81 indicates battery needs replaced and then a proper clear procedure

If you are sure it has leave in clear chips, press each of the TEST and PSEUDO buttons 10 times to be sure they are getting a good internal connection, then proceed with a clear. Are the leave in clear chips labeled as such?

And is the #8 switch being moved on the DS1?

labeled as leave ins, and ds1 8 to on.
