Hey everyone. My MC is giving me a hard time. I installed the 2 rechargeable aaa battery holder setup on the progressive board, then programmed it using directions found on the old site, did a full clear & set everything up under 11d. Now I am stuck with the 91-0 code. Not sure what I did wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
My 11d settings are as follows:
9 = 4
2 = 4
7 = 1
56 = 0
51 = 9999
58 = 1000
78lo = 1
73 = 0
61 = 1
81 = 0
Cham2 settings are as follows:
F3 = SNGL
F4 = M08
F5 = 3sec
F6 = JPO
F7 = $$$
F8 = MS00
Jackpot Programming:
Base = 250.00
Current jp = 769.25
Hidden jp = 000.00
Jp limit = 999.999.99
Increment 1 = 10.000.00
Increment 2 = 000.00
Used padded buttons to select SA mode

I think I found the problem, the wiring seems to be wrong. I have wires running from J6 on the controller to J13 on the backplane, There is a wire connected to J14 but it is not connected to anything. I believe it is suppose to go from J7 on the controller to J13 & J14.
My question at this point is - does anyone have a wiring diagram so I can make a harness to hook this all up?
Thank you.
-
Got the harness all set up, the machine is now working :D . The progressive amount is not changing as I play the game. Any Ideas?

You are still lacking communication between the machine and the progressive unit. #2 in 11d menu ....some machine like 0004 and some like 0005. I have several and it's about 50/50 as to 4 or 5
-
In Bally 11d menu you need to set 78lo=1
not 79lo
91 Error comes down to this:
Bally 11d menu #2
Select 4 IF USING J14 serial return from J7
Select 5 not connecting to J14

WOW! Shame on me, I should have caught that 79lo. Must be oldtimers.
-
I tried 4 & 5 in 11d menu 2 , neither worked, thinking i may have a setting off on the cham unit. I'll have to go through them tomorrow.
-
Jeff,
Did you try 78Lo=1 instead of 79Lo=1 as stormrider stated?

Sure did, still no luck :(

Not sure where you're at on this but here is the list of settings I got with my Monte Carlo. I was told they had to match for the progressive to work. I did have your same problem once after I got the machine home and it was a plug issue because I had removed the top box to fit the machine in my back seat and hadn't plugged everything back in correctly.
-
Cowboy,
Some of the setting on your list don't affect the progressive operation on the machine. 09, 51, 58, 73, 74, 64, 67, 20, I think you'll find can be set Users Choice and will not effect the progressive. 27, 26, 50hi & 50Lo should be set to default 0000 and 02 is different on some machine, either 04 or 05. Here's the setting I use for all my progressives.

Just though of one more thing. Dip Switch DS1. SW4, SW5. & SW6 Must be set to ON OFF ON

dip switches are correct, I just did a full clear, reset everything up, took the batt. out of the cham & let it sit awhile, redid all the cham settings, unplugged the 2 wires for the progressive on the backplane & re-seated them, re-seated the plugs on the controller & still not working right. I just set 2 of these Monte carlo's up the other day with these exact settings & they worked perfectly. I even saved the psp settings so I could just plug it up & send the data. :banghead: :hissyfit: :banghead: :hissyfit:

Problem solved, I swapped out the harness from the cham to the backlpane, that fixed it. Thank you everyone for your input. :applause: :applause: :applause:

Thanks for the info lindlam, I'm not overly familiar with the Ballys and have altered some of those numbers as far as limits andwhat not. Thought it might work as a starting point at least.

It's never the sort of thing you think it should be......It's always something STUPID like a bad harness. :banghead: :banghead: Glad you found it !!

I have the same problem with my monte. I have a blue and yellow wire coming from j6 of the controller that is not connected. Where did you connect it to?

you will need to plug into J7, chances are the correct wire is in your machine & is just not hooked up. The last 3 I did had the same wire your talking about hooked to the progressive board. If you find it, plug it into J7, you will need to plug it in down by the backplane as well. here's a couple picks for a reference.

here is a pic of the lower connections. Also you might want to check in the progressive section on this site, I posted everything you will need to get that Monte progressive set up & running.

I do have that wire for J7, I also had a wire for J6. I will trace out the lower wire tonight and let you know what I find. I do have everything else set up just as you posted earlier.
Thanks

We'll I got that part working. Wrong plug. New problem. When I press the bet one credit. The lines at the top light up in 1,3,2,5,4 not 1,2,3,4,5

Gary,
That's an easy one (maybe). Check if the lamps are just out of order on the glass.
