Post by: hunter2280 on April 25, 2017, 08:01:03 PM
I picked up two Bally Alpha Video machines. These are the first Ballys for me, i have 11 more  IGT machines. I would like to enable the printers and do a game change on one of the machines. What is required to complete these task. Thanks Rick

You have M9000's.  You will need a clear CF card which is based on your Bios/OS combo.  Being M9000's my best guess is that you have OS "317"?  For the game change you will need the Game CF for the game you want.  You will also need to verify that it is comopatible with the MPU you have.  Bally Alphas have gone through several MPU revisions, and some games require more memory than others.

I've never even seen a 310 os.  You may be able to use the 310 os with the other game.  In Bally the OS/Game combination is not as strict as it is on other platforms.  Do you have a clear card?  What is your bios version?  (its it the 32 pin eprom on the mpu, the only one socketed other than the small sjur)

Ok, you have an 802 bios, that is REALLY old.  I suggest you upgrade to at least 807 which will run all the games meant for the M9000.  Then you can use the 317 OS card you have with your other game, and you will need a 312 clear.  You can also use the currently installed game with bios 807.  You did not post a picture of the PCA number label to determine your cpu type, my best guess is that you have PCA39456-0-0.
