Title: Anyone familiar with IGS boards and ICT TAO Bill Acceptor?
Post by: Compostela on August 11, 2019, 02:07:11 PM
Hello everyone,
I bought an IGS game board thinking there would be plenty of information online on how to connect it  but so far no luck. I've been reading and searching these forums but no one seems to mention them.

The problem I have is connecting the board to a an ICT TAO bill validator. I connect everything and it works but the game just isnt communicating with the board to accept the credits.

So like I said in question topic... anyone familiar with these boards and Bill Acceptors?

 :thank_you:

This is so old but The ICT TAO is a good bill acceptor.  There is a setting in your IGS game board where you have to select your bill acceptor and it might have an option for baud rate.  Baud rate should be set at 2400.  There are many different ways to connect the TAO to a PCB...pulse, serial, etc.  There are different harnesses and dip switch settings for each.  If you had posted pictures and I had seen this post back in 2019 I could have probably walked you through it assuming you had the correct harness.  Usually when you buy a game board and bill acceptor from a reputable distributor it will come already configured for you.

I purchased 2 ICT Tao A1 validators used that did not come with 30 pin connector wires or wiring harnesses.  I’ve tried to use 30 pin connectors from other ICT models based on what the installation guide shows but I cant get it right.  I can get it to power up but every time I attempt to connect the wires to the board “coin jam” starts flashing on the monitor.  Can you tell me whats causing this?
