JCW UBA-10 Dead

I have a Aristocrat Love & War machine with a JCW UBA-10 bill validator. On boot up the bv will initialize, motor running runway lights come on, then at the end of the inital process the bv goes dead.  It does nothing.  No runway lights.  the small red light comes on.  The red and green trouble lights are both off.


Any help is appreciated.

You can download a utility from JCM's website (The toolkit)  connect your validator to a laptop and see what is going on.  Sometimes, these units need to be reflashed.

No, firmware is a protected resource available only to authorized JCM customers and dealers.  You will have to find an alternative source for the firmware.

any protocol error messages or such, anything that might tell you why it's not working.  Also have you checked your machine that the protocol for the validator is EBDS?

I don't see any protcol errors.  Just statics on amount of bills enter and errors why ejected.  What is EBDS?

I ran the program ID003 Driver Basic and it keep waiting for a connection.  The tool suite program got statics.

You shouldn't need the driver is you are connected to USB.  IF you see no errors, then it might be configuration error on your cabinet.  Check in the audit screen if you have the bill validator protocol to EBDS.

No bv errors.  Got some Panic Log errors. Startup (48).  jcm (39). ram_exec_(46).  Still looking for others.  Where do I look for the EBDS protocol error?

I haven't found anything EXCEPT:  there is a message on the screen that states "Lockup error to be acknowledged"  Is this the problem?  How to I clear it?

Solved!!!
The lockup was the main door open.  I had that door open and closed many times and I never saw the error that the door was open.  But the audit screen showed a lockup and when I went into the screen of lockups, it said it was the main door.


Sorry to have wasted your time for such a silly problem.  Thanks for all your help.
