Title: Does One Have to do With Another?

Hey everyone, I bought a used Red, White and Blue IGT S+....The machine powers up as normal....however when I drop a quarter in, it does go through the coin comparator and into the hopper, but does not credit.....HOWEVER the handle is also stuck....would this cause the coin acceptor not to function correctly.....it is sized for quarters.....I DO have another coin acceptor but before replacing it, what could cause this?? THANKS!!!

You may need to adjust the coin comparitor sensitivity dial for better coin acceptance?

Grab a tiny screwdriver and turn the potentiometer dial counter-clockwise until it stops, then turn the dial clockwise a 1/4 turn.
That should get you in the ballpark for coin acceptance.

Also, wiggle the two gray wires on top of the coin comparitor.
Those two gray wires have pins inside that get dirty from oxidization sometimes.
Wiggling the connector sometimes gives the 2 pins inside the small white plastic housing better contact for the "rake" magnet behind the CC to work properly.

A stuck handle does not affect coin acceptance, it is nothing but a fancy switch that does the same thing as the spin reels button.

Okay so that Coin Comparator was history.....so I found another one and tested it on another machine. That part is definitely good. Now coins are just falling through. Optics are also good and clean. When door is closed I get a solid light on top (just the top one). I also get a coins paid 1. NO insert coin light...the light is good. Still not able to put the slot into test mode by pressing the white button. There's another issue.....any way to test and narrow this down??

I fixed it...I cleared the CMOS and whala!!! THANKS EVERYONE!!
