Title: V22/32 Screen Problems
Post by: Delma on September 01, 2021, 03:31:54 PM
It's becoming pretty standard that every time there a power outage something goes wrong. Most machines booted back up smoothly but one the screen has gone black. I've had a similar issue before but this one I could see the screen and it showed no signal. Took an AD board to fix that one. This one is getting power and green light in the back of the monitor but nothing on the screen. My first thoughts was a video card so I installed a brought new one to only have the same issue. Not sure if this could be another AD board issue as it sound different than my last one.

Is the back light in the monitor coming on? Possible the driver board is bad?

Open up the power supply inside the monitor, it probably needs to be recapped.  If you don't have the "no video" message on the screen it is either power supply or inverter.  It is easier to re-cap than to find an inverter.  Hopefully it's just a recap.  Both times that I've had bad V32 monitors, have been power supply cap issues.

Are you using good quality surge protectors ?  I've had a lot of power outages where I live and never had a problem, at least not due to the outage.  Power can be a bit erratic when it returns so when an outage hits I switch everything off.
